Integration

Psychotherapy
Psychologists are assigned two participants, spending half an hour for each of them. Throughout their daily activities, participants will be assessed regarding their experiences, both past and present.  This will enable The Center for Guidance Counseling to track changes in how the participants are doing as the seminar proceeds. Psychotherapy is the practice of spending time with a professional trained to help diagnose and treat mental and emotional problems. Therapy can take various forms — cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or a combination of these. Our approach is the humanistic approach. At the center of each therapy session is the caring relationship between a professional and a patient.

Personality Tests
Participants are asked to participate in various activities, which are later related to further discussions. These activities determine their personalities. Personality tests determine the individuality of a person. It measures their strengths and weaknesses, thus the application of Strength Psychology. It determines their intelligence. It determines their careers. The seminar provided an Aptitude Test and a Career Test, which would later determine their vocations from which they can start their responsibilities as providers of their families.

Social Learning Theory
Social learning theory is a perspective that people learn within a social context (Ormrod, 1999). According to Albert Bandura, it is facilitated through concepts, such as modeling and observational learning. People, especially children, learn from the environment and seek acceptance from society by learning through influential models, in our case, professional psychologists. The participants will be given talks regarding their social roles as students and as fathers. Time management and effective study habits are discussed, as well. Social learning theory is primarily observing and imitating the actions of others. The seminar will teach the participants basic household chores, such as cooking and washing the dishes. The social behavior is also influenced by being rewarded or punished. After each activity, participants are rewarded in the form of food. In order for them to be able to eat, they must make sure they finish all their activities first.
